The Christmas is firmly upon us. Long work hours, late nights and little time with family. Yes, the life of a church production person gets crazy this time of year. With pressured deadlines, high expectations and technical difficulties everywhere, please keep perspective.

Don’t forget why the church celebrates this season. There is only one thing that matters, and that is Jesus Christ. The celebration of his birth and his return is why this season matters in our churches.

It is important to keep perspective as we prepare. As tensions rise and emotions are exploding, take a second and refocus. Believe it or not, there are more important things than the perfect lighting setup.

What are we doing to help people celebrate the birth of our Savior this Christmas? How are the media elements and creative pieces directing people toward Christ? If we will keep perspective on why this season is so important, we will be able to withstand what the season has often become.

Remember this one thing this Christmas season: It’s not about being the most creative. It’s not about having the highest production value.

It is about Jesus.
