Creativity for the Creative
“You are what you eat” is heard all the time, and its true, the substance of your body is made up of what you eat.
As a Creative “You create what you consume”
What you create is a direct reflection of what you choose to expose yourself to.
Not saying that you create exactly what you take in (although that can happen time to time) but everything you put in your brain is reflected through the prism of your own unique point of view and experiences.
Creativity is characterized by the ability to perceive the world in new ways, to find hidden patterns, to make connections between seemingly unrelated subjects, and to generate solutions. Creativity involves two processes: thinking and producing.
If you have ideas, but don’t act on them, you are imaginative but not creative.
Just like an athlete exercises and diets to get better; why don’t we as creatives do the same.
Before you embark on a new project give some thought to changing your cultural diet, read books , have conversation with new people, see movies or go to museums. Immerse yourself in the world you want to create.
Go into training to get better creatively.
