How are you getting better?
A simple question, right? What are you doing...what am I doing to get better. When it comes to the world of creativity, we often like to think of the process as all inspiration and butterflies. The truth, however, is the process is tears and sweat. The creative process is just that...a process.
I'm not much of a mechanic. I couldn't tell you how to change our an engine in a car. But let's just say I decided I wanted to do just that. What do I have to do?
I have to learn how.
It's the same way in the creative world. How are we getting better through training and learning new techniques? Technology changes so fast that if we aren't actively learning about it, we can miss out on so many tools that will help our ministry.
When was the last time you watched hours and hours of tutorial videos, just to learn about your soundboard or editing software? When was the last time I realized I didn't know much about a specific piece of equipment and decided it was time to learn?
Somedays, it's just good for us to ask the question: How are we getting better?
