Why We Do It

This is my favorite time of year. The family, the food, the gifts. It is just a wonderful season. For many creatives in the local church, it is also a busy season. Deadlines loom, expectations for something amazing abound. Your pastor may even ask you to fly someone over the audience.

What a Season!

As we head into the weekend, filled with Christmas Eve services and Christmas Day celebrations, can we take a moment to stop?

Take a moment to breathe.

Take moment to realize why we celebrate Christmas.

Let's face it, from time to time, we can all use a reminder for what this season is really about. It's not about the big events, candlelight services or kids programs. While those are all good and fun ways to celebrate, there are instances where we need to internally remember why we are so happy this time of year.

We are happy because the Son of God, Jesus Christ, came to earth as a baby. Born a King, yet born in a stable. God incarnate, come to save us. To redeem us.

Tis the season to be grateful for the opportunities God has given us to worship His Son.
