Why A Film Festival?

In case you haven't heard, we are excited to host our second Film Festival (July 25), in Tulsa! We love this event. Honestly, it has been something we've wanted to do since the beginning of the CREATE:initiative.

But why a film festival?

When this journey began, there was a single goal in mind: to connect creatives so they could share ideas and life together. As we began to process what this "connecting" looked like, we were drawn to Gatherings like we have had all along. But along with these Gatherings, the question arose, "how can we get creatives to share their ideas and their work?"

Thus, the CREATE:initiative Film Festival was born.

The purpose of the festival is not just to have a good time (although we do have fun!), it is to provide a venue for creatives to have their work reviewed, critiqued and enjoyed by their peers.

I think we can all agree we become better by sharing our work; even when we are scared too. The Film Festival gives an avenue for video and design work to be shared. Not shared so it can be demolished, but shared so that it can be made better, celebrated and learned from.

That is why we have the Film Festival.

That is why we want you to share your work.

That is why we want you to be there!
