Have a Little Fun

So I've been trying something lately. I've been trying to have more fun.

I don't know about you, but sometimes, work just gets me down. Sometimes, work just gets me in a bad mood. I can get in this weird headspace where creating is the last thing I want to do. Simply put, I don't like doing it.

A few weeks ago, I made a conscious effort to have more fun in my process. What does this look like, exactly? Well, it does not look like skydiving or bungee jumping before work. It doesn't mean turning my office into one you'd see at Google (if only). No, what having fun means to me is simply developing an attitude that keeps a smile on my face during my work.

This has been quite difficult at times. I think we've all been in those days of creative development that test our patience. But, overall, I am trying to have a good attitude.

Overall, I am trying to have more fun.

This a little step. Most people probably don't recognize my efforts...and that is okay. For me, I have noticed a difference in my overall creative output. I have noticed that finished works have a little bit more fun in them as well.

It has been a welcome change.

Today, whatever it is you're doing. Go at it with the attitude of having fun...let me know how that treats you.
