This video, by Daniel Sax, is one that I come back to again and again. It is Daniel's take on a famous Ira Glass talk, in which Glass discusses the gap between taste and the end product.
As people who do creative things, we always struggle with what we see in our minds and how disappointed we are at the finished piece. Glass would remind us that recognizing the gap is a good thing, because it means we do have good taste. We must now do the work to close the gap between taste and finished art.
