What Do You Mean?
Can we all agree that communication within an organization is tough? Sure, there might be exceptions, but overall, lack of clear communication is generally what leaves employees flustered.
The creative space is really no different. Often, we tend to have a “my way or the highway” approach. Not good.
In order to combat this lack of clear communication, maybe we should ask a simple question: What do you mean?
When a client or director shares their creative idea, ask them what they mean. Ask them for a more precise picture. Ask them for more clues, all of which are wrapped in the idea of asking, “What do you mean?”
It’s amazing how much better an organization can work with clear communication, and the easiest way to get there is to ask a simple question.
